Courageous Advocacy
At Christ Church we are driven by our vision, we believe every child is a unique gift from God to be courageous advocates. This means bravely standing up for others and doing what is right, following the example of Jesus, to help those in need or facing challenges.
We are guided by our values of faith, hope, and love
Faith: Trusting in God’s plan for everyone, knowing that everyone is created with a unique purpose. It means believing in the God-given potential of every child, even when times are tough.
Hope: Living out the Christian hope by working for a better future for all children, especially those who may feel left out or overlooked. It’s about making sure everyone feels included and valued, as many religious teachings encourage us to care for the vulnerable and the less fortunate.
Love: Following Jesus’ commandment to “love your neighbour as yourself.” It means showing kindness and compassion to others, especially those who may be struggling. Loving others as God loves us by standing up for classmates who need support, and making sure everyone is treated with dignity and care.
For us, courageous advocacy means living out our vision by bravely helping and protecting others, making sure everyone is treated with love and respect, as we are all seen as precious in the eyes of God.
Big Green Week
Congratulations to Year 4 for their outstanding effort in collecting batteries for recycling during Big Green Week! They successfully gathered an impressive total of 391 batteries. Recycling batteries significantly benefits our environment.
As a school, we are incredibly proud of the children who chose to bring their batteries to school for recycling rather than disposing of them in the bin.
Well done to everyone who participated in our Big Battery Hunt!
Litter Picking in Holmewood Gardens!
We wanted to help our local community. We noticed that visitors to the park were not being respectful. So we decided to clean it up! We received a letter of thanks from the Holmewood Neighbourhood Association. We felt very proud!
Raising Money for the Homeless
We held a cake sale to raise money for charities that help the homeless. Then we 'slept out' to try to imagine how it would feel to be homeless. We are all very grateful for our warm homes and beds!
Creating sustainable spaces
We created eco-friendly community parks based around our local park. We included different elements of renewable energy. Then we took action and wrote to our local MP with our proposal of a sustainable garden or park in Streatham. We all received a reply from our MP, who is going to investigate the possibility of including these elements in some of our parks. Success!
World Mental Health Day
Our wellbeing ambassadors delivered a collective worship to launch our activities then delivered sessions for all of the classes. They put affirmations around the school to celebrate the day because we believe Mental Health is a strength not a weakness.
