TRANSPORT- GOING PLACES

To celebrate our new topic we went to visit the Transport Museum. We saw lots of transport from the past and we went back in time to the 1900's and sat on the first electric tube. We recommend this trip for everyone.

Welcome back! We hope you had a fantastic festive break.

This term in spring 1 we will be learning about traditional Tales.

How many Traditional Tales can you think of?

What is your favorite Traditional Tale and why?

Here are some photos of us enjoying being back at school after the holidays?

In Year R we have been very busy with our learning. We hope you enjoy our photos.

Our new topic this term is TRANSPORT.  We used data handling to determine the most popular way of travelling to school. Lots of our class members like to walk to school and keep healthy.

In science we explored hot and cold. We thought about different clothing we would take on a holiday depending on the weather.  We explored using ice, blankets and hot water bottles to see the difference between hot and cold climates.

In PE we have been practising our gymnastic skills. We have learnt pencil, tuck, pike, and star positions. We are learning how to take turns and present our jumps.

Take a look at all our Busy Learning.  We have all settled in really well and are tying hard for our new teachers.

Reception 2016/2017

Our Bring and Share Picnic

We enjoyed sharing different types of food from our different family backgrounds. it was enjoyable to taste different types of foods from different countries.

STEM LEARNING

We looked at the Billy Goats Gruff. We worked in teams to build a Lego bridge for the goats.  The bridge needed to be as wide as the 'river' and as tall as the troll to live under it. We found this tricky as the Lego kept breaking. We used out team learning to try to solve this problem and make a stronger bridge.

We used Numicon to help us with our problem solving.

We needed to give change from 10p and 20p.

Art Week

The Future is ours...so what are you going to do about it!

To kick off our art week, we had a protest in the playground to voice our concerns that could affect us in the future.

The posters you created we brilliant.

Thank you for all your hard work!

We worked with Miss Greenfield with cutting, sticking and pattern making. This is to help make our hands nice and strong for writing. We call this Physie Club, and it is fun, fun, fun.

We used the ICT suit to complete a simple Espresso programme on the laptops. We used a computer mouse to click and drag labels onto the astronaut.
